Fitting Instructions for Cobra Strikers and Premiers |
||
| Caution | We recommend Cobra Shinguards be fitted under adult supervision. Hot water, hot pan/stove, and hot shinguards can be hazardous. Do not over heat or leave in water too long. |
|
| Important | Read all instructions carefully before molding shinguards. Pay special attention to time and temperature instructions to assure a valid warranty. These instructions assume you are using the Cobra Sleeve Shinguard anchoring system. | |
| Step 1: | Using a Cobra sleeve with the seams showing, simply pull the hourglass-shaped sleeve on over dry foot and ankle until the top of the sleeve is just below the knee. The vertical seam should run down the back of the leg, and the horizontal center seam should be positioned above your ankle where you want the bottom of your shinguard to be. | |
| Step 2: | Put 1" of water in the bottom of a large pot/pan and bring almost to boiling. (DO NOT LET THE WATER BOIL!.) Place one guard in the hot water with the plastic side face down. Leave the shinguard in the hot water about 1 minute or until it is soft and pliable. |
|
| Step 3: | Using a spatula, lift guard out of the water and place on a dry towel. Gently wipe off any excess water. Immediately place the shinguard on the leg with the bottom of the guard touching the mid-seam of the sleeve just above the ankle. With the guard still warm and pliable, pull the lower half of the sleeve up over the guard. The guard should now be sandwiched between one layer of the sleeve underneath and another layer folded over the top. Use your hands to form the guard to the contour of your leg. Once the guard is shaped to the leg, leave the shinguard in the sleeve and allow shinguard to cool. | |
| Step 4: | For maximum comfort and fit, remain standing while the guards cool. Guards will mold to the exact contour of your legs. Leave guards on for a total of 5 to 10 minutes. If your Cobra Shinguards shift excessively during a game you may need a smaller pair of sleeves. | |
| Notice: | WE DO NOT RECOMMEND HEATING COBRA SHINGUARDS IN A MICROWAVE OVEN DUE TO UNEVEN HEATING THAT CAN OCCUR. DAMAGE DONE TO COBRA SHINGUARDS AS A RESULT OF A MICROWAVE IS NOT COVERED BY OUR WARRANTY! | |
| Please Note! | Because of the patented remoldability of this product, prolonged exposure to high temperatures can cause loss of custom fit and/or damage to your Cobra Shinguards. Please do not leave in hot car, near hot stove, heating appliance, etc. | |
